Wellington needs to be prepared for inevitable earthquakes

Wellington needs to be prepared for inevitable earthquakes

GNS Science's "It's Our Fault" project has won the 2019 national science awards.

The project looks at Wellington's earthquake resilience to help councils plan ahead.

Senior scientist Russ Van Dissen says their work will mitigate damage from future quakes.

He says the real key is increasing resilience in the community.
