Detours are in place after a slip on State Highway 6, north of Nelson

Detours are in place after a slip on State Highway 6, north of Nelson

The road is closed at Hira in both directions.

Another part of State Highway 6, west of Murchison, has been shut since yesterday afternoon, after a Canterbury man died when a boulder fell on his vehicle.

That section of the highway is expected to reopen at about five o'clock this evening.
