Positive signs for the manufacturing industry

Positive signs for the manufacturing industry

The latest BNZ - BusinessNZ Performance of Manufacturing Index shows the sector's expanded for the first time since June.

The seasonally adjusted PMI for October was nearly 53, which shows manufacturing is generally expanding.

It's the highest level of activity since April.

BusinessNZ executive director Catherine Beard says the result's a welcome change after three months of contraction.
