    Chasing 272 runs for victory and needing one run to win with an over remaining, the Spirit lost three consecutive wickets, before Carolyn Esterhuizen snuck the winning run off the last ball.

    Kate Anderson top scored for Northern with 102.

    Meanwhile, Auckland have beaten Canterbury by three wickets, however the Wellington, Central Districts match has been rained off.
