A lengthy court battle between former Conservative Party leader Colin Craig and Jordan Williams is over

A lengthy court battle between former Conservative Party leader Colin Craig and Jordan Williams is over

The Taxpayers' Union director has apologised to Craig and offered to pay compensation after admitting making false allegations.

Political reporter Barry Soper broke the story before the 2014 general election.

He says five year later, Williams can't compete with Craig's long pockets, so the only way out was to offer and apology and close the case once and for all.

The apology means the retrial of Williams' case accusing Craig of defamation won't go ahead.
