Three people face the prospect of jail time over allegedly dumping an east Auckland golf course's sewage

Three people face the prospect of jail time over allegedly dumping an east Auckland golf course's sewage

Auckland Council has filed 17 charges against the trio, relating to discharge of wastewater from Formosa Golf Club in Beachlands.

The cases carry a maximum penalty of two years' prison, a 300-thousand dollar fine, or a 600-thousand dollar fine for a company.

The council says the issue dates back several years, and this action is a final resort.
