There's ongoing pressure on the hospital's surgery and critical care departments as a result of the eruption.
In the first week, the National Burn Service had to deal with more burns than they would normally expect to see in a year.
Counties Manukau Incident Controller John Cartwright says 220 elective surgeries have had to be postponed so far, with management plans in place through to the end of January.
