Higher cigarette prices mean people will search for cheaper brands

Higher cigarette prices mean people will search for cheaper brands

Vape enthusiasts believe the answer to quit the bad habit is to limit the number of cigarette retailers instead.

The Vaping Trade Association of New Zealand is pushing the Government to tackle the issue in 2020.

Spokesperson, Jonathan Devery says often when a price hike occurs, people move onto another brand that's cheaper.

He says the first step should be picking an area and reducing the number of places you can buy tobacco in that area.
