    A water stoush in the far North has seen an avocado orchard vandalised after accusations of water thievery


    Police are investigating damage to windbreaks, irrigation pipes and trees at Mapua Orchard, north of Kaitaia.

    It comes amid rising tensions over water on the Aupouri Peninsula.

    Mapua general manager Ian Broadhurst says they've done everything right.

    He says to be called water thieves is disappointing considering they've followed due process.
