Calls for change to the sports funding model - to help Kiwis keep New Year's fitness resolutions

Exercise New Zealand CEO Richard Beddie says with one of the worst obesity rates in the world - it's clear a more collaborative approach is needed to get people exercising.

He says the Government could support more fitness initiatives.

Beddie says money for pro-athletes is coming out of the same pot - which needs to change so everyone can benefit from it.
