A group of commercial fishers in the Thames region have been stopped from selling fish ... after allegedly under-reporting catches

It's also alleged they unlawfully supplied snapper to an Auckland fish supply business.

MPI says 45 fishery officers and the Police executed five searches, including three at residential properties across the Auckland and Waikato regions late last year.

More than 25-thousand in cash was seized - along with six commercial fishing vessels and a refrigerated truck.

About 800 kilograms of undocumented grey mullet and kahawai were found, along with 230 kilograms of undocumented snapper.
