33-year-old Muru Muru Taana-Andrews was jailed for just over four-years on a slew of charges last year, including fleecing the retail worker.
Taana-Andrews approached his victim in late 2016, claiming he had a compromising photograph of the man and a young girl from the company's CCTV system and said gang leadership would take violent action if they found out.
Parole Board chairman, Sir Ron Young, says Taana-Andrews has behaved well in prison - but, despite that, denied parole.
