New Zealand come off victory in the Hamilton sevens, their second tournament triumph of the season, which put them firmly on top of the standings.
Dickson says their success is a result of hard work over the last few years.
The men open their tournament against Wales at 4:31pm.
The Black Ferns sevens have opened their account with a 28-nil win over Japan.
