    An off-duty police officer's died in Auckland City Hospital after a serious crash during the week south of Auckland


    The woman was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after the crash on Linwood Road in Karaka on Thursday.

    Police haven't named the woman, but confirmed she was an officer in the Counties Manukau district.

    Superintendent Jill Rogers says the woman's family were by her side when she died.

    The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and the death will be referred to the Coroner.
