The Residential Tenancies Amendment Bill passed its first reading at Parliament yesterday and is progressing to the select committee stage.
The proposed changes include banning no-cause evictions and limiting rent increases to just one per year.

For example, if a tenant is moves out because of renovations and these don't go ahead, the tenant may have been moved out unfairly.
