Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy has held talks with the Brisbane Bombers consortium - a group hoping to launch the 17th NRL team

Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy has held talks with the Brisbane Bombers consortium - a group hoping to launch the 17th NRL team

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

The Daily Telegraph is reporting the ARL Commission is preparing to ramp-up plans for a 17th team to enter the competition in 2023.

The Bombers would be the favourite to take the new spot, and Bellamy has met with consortium chiefs about potentially heading up their football program should the side be launched.

Bellamy is contracted with the Storm until the end of next season, but it's believed the 61-year-old doesn't want to keep coaching beyond that.
