The national carrier has issued the warning, as the Government weighs up whether to extend its current ban travellers from mainland China.

Air New Zealand says it's facing challenging conditions, but is well positioned to respond.

The airline has revealed it will temporarily suspend services to Seoul from Saturday next week, after already halting flights to and from mainland China.

It's also had to reduce capacity on its Asian network, and on some trans-Tasman and main trunk domestic routes.

The Government will decide today whether to extend its ban on travellers from China.
