Hong Kong authorities say they have quarantined a pet dog of a coronavirus patient

Hong Kong authorities say they have quarantined a pet dog of a coronavirus patient

It comes after the dog's nasal and oral samples tested "weak positive" for the virus.

Further tests will be carried out to confirm if the dog has been infected - or if the samples are the result of environmental contamination.

The dog doesn't have any symptoms and there is no evidence that pets can become infected.

It will be in quarantine for two weeks.
