Almost 10 days since a fire tore through a Christchurch school ... it remains closed

South New Brighton School was expected to reopen today, but that won't now happen till Thursday.

Three classrooms and part of an office block were destroyed by fire the week before last.

Principal, Sue Walls, says new teaching spaces will be built in place of the demolished classes.

She says Youth Alive and Eastern Suburbs Recreation are continuing to provide programmes for students until Thursday.
