The TranzAlpine, Northern Explorer and Coastal Pacific trains have been cancelled from today - while the Capital Connection will continue because of the role it plays in public transport.

On the Interislander service, the Aratere will become a freight-only service to help ensure resilience in shifting freight across Cook Strait.

The Kaiarahi and Kaitaki will continue as passenger and commercial vehicle services.
