Tim Payne has issued a heartfelt apology and vowed to accept all repercussions for embarrassing the Wellington Phoenix and A-League, following an early morning incident in Sydney

The 26 year old midfielder and team-mate Oliver Sail broke the team's coronavirus quarantine when they took a joyride on a golf cart.

Payne admits he was drinking but insists he wasn't arrested.

He says it's not normal behaviour for him.
