    The Mad Butcher's chief executive is frustrated after the chain was told on Wednesday night it isn'tt an essential service.

    Michael Morton says the stores are still waiting to hear from MBIE on whether they can operate.

    He says they has been told they were an essential service so they geared up accordingly.
