With all courses currently closed due to the four week lockdown, greenkeepers are unable to do any maintenance work which means even when the lockdown ends, they won't be able to open straight away.
Ryan Adams is the head greenkeeper at Christchurch's Clearwater Golf Club and says the course will need a lot of love.
Golf's national body and Sport New Zealand are lobbying the government in a bid to be allowed to do some maintenance on the courses around the country.
