Dunedin's flagship waterfront development may be a casualty of Covid-19

Dunedin's flagship waterfront development may be a casualty of Covid-19

The project - which has attracted 800-thousand-dollars of Provincial Growth Fund support - would redevelop Steamer Basin and link it to the central city with a landmark bridge.

Mayor Aaron Hawkins told the Otago Daily Times the redevelopment might need to be reconsidered.

Council had previously committed 20-million-dollars to build the bridge - but Hawkins says finding private investors to back the rest of the project now seems unlikely.
