Raelene Castle has resigned as boss of Rugby Australia
24 April 2020
The decision comes after a week of pressure on her role, with 11 former Wallabies captains signing a letter calling for her to stand aside.
Players have had to take major pay cuts, as an already struggling code grapples with the pain of covid-19.
Here's Castle speaking on NewstalkZB with Simon Barnett and Phil Gifford hours before getting informed she had lost the board's support.
Castle ends a tumultuous two-and-a-half year reign dealing with crises such as the Israel Folau saga, a fractious relationship with former Wallabies coach Michael Cheika and the battle to secure a broadcasting rights deal.
