A health warning has been issued for Lakes Rotoehu, Rotoiti and Rotorua

Toi Te Ora Public Health has issued the advisory, after finding toxic algal bloom activity in all three lakes.
Medical Officer of Health, Doctor Phil Shoemack, says there have been no reports of anyone becoming ill from contact with the algae.
However, he warns the health effects could be significant, especially for children, those with skin problems, asthma and general respiratory conditions.
