More water use breaches by Aucklanders

More water use breaches by Aucklanders

Restrictions, which came into effect over the weekend, ban residents from washing cars or watering gardens with outdoor hoses.

Watercare received 34 complaints of alleged breaches yesterday, adding to the 35 from the day before.

Most of them relate to people washing their cars with a hose and some also involved water blasting.

However, Aucklanders received some early praise for their efforts.

423 million litres was used on Saturday, a drop of 4.5 percent on the previous Saturday.
