Getting the cricket ball to swing may be a little harder in the future

Getting the cricket ball to swing may be a little harder in the future

The International Cricket Council has outlawed the use of saliva to polish the ball as part of its recommendations for a return to play post Covid-19.

Using sweat is still allowed though and Black Caps coach Gary Stead says that might help them on their travels.

General manager Justin Nelson is relieved to finally confirm a seven team National Basketball League.

A six week competition will take place in Auckland from June 23rd, with games to be played five nights a week.

Nelson says dealing with Covid-19 and then trying to piece together a new competition amid team withdrawals has been tricky.

Silver Ferns shooter Bailey Mes will miss the entire ANZ Premiership after undergoing knee surgery.

The Northern Mystics have replaced Mes in their squad for the competition's resumption next month with Hamilton under-19 rep Asher Grapes.
