Covid 19 has delayed sentencing for the Christchurch mosque shooter
28 May 2020
Brenton Tarrant pleaded guilty to all 51 murder charges and 40 attempted murder charges at the High Court in Christchurch in March.
He had been remanded until next week - so a date for sentencing could be set.
But Justice Cameron Mander issued a minute this morning - saying the global pandemic and tight border controls and quarantine measures has forced another delay.
He says they want to ensure victims and family members overseas can participate in sentencing
The 29-year-old has been further remanded to a nominal date of July 13
