    An amateur contract killer who bludgeoned and stabbed a young Christchurch mum to death 25 years ago has been jailed for a minimum 10 years


    Angela Blackmoore was brutally killed in her Wainoni home in 1995

    Jeremy Powell was sentenced to life in jail at the High Court in Christchurch this morning

    He admitted to the 1995 murder shortly after his arrest in October last year.

    It came after a breakthrough in the cold case..

    Angela Blackmoore's friends and family were in court today - including her partner Laurie Anderson - who was the father of her unborn child.

    Two other people have also been charged in relation to the murder - both have pleaded not guilty.
