Sri Lankan cricketing great Kumar Sangakkara wants an investigation into claims his side deliberately lost the 2011 Cricket World Cup final to India for money

Sri Lankan cricketing great Kumar Sangakkara wants an investigation into claims his side deliberately lost the 2011 Cricket World Cup final to India for money

The country's sports minister at the time has now claimed Sri Lanka "sold" the final.

The minister said players were not responsible for the fix, but did not elaborate further.

Sangakkara, who was the captain at the tournament, says the "serious" allegations warrant an investigation by the International Cricket Council.

India won the match by six wickets with 10 balls to spare.
