Constable Matthew Hunt's colleagues and family continue to be supported -- after his death in Auckland on Friday

The 28-year-old was shot dead in the line of duty on Reynella Drive in Massey.

Another officer suffered serious leg injuries -- and a member of the public was hit by a vehicle at the scene.

Waitemata Superintendent Naila Hassan says Hunt was highly respected by his peers.

She says he is, and will continue, to be sorely missed by everyone -- he was killed serving his country and there is no higher price.
