There's concern we fought the battle against covid-19 in the wrong place

There's concern we fought the battle against covid-19 in the wrong place

Waitemata DHB nurses who volunteered to help at the St Margaret's rest home in Auckland -- reported a lack of or no PPE when required to have close contact with coronavirus patients.

More than half the country's covid-19 deaths were in aged care facilities.

NZ Nurses Organisation's Kate Weston says we need to make some radical improvements.

She says we need to recognise it's not in critical care -- but rather in community, aged care and primary health where we need to bolster our public health response.
