A Northland man has been sentenced to more than five years in jail - for stabbing a police dog twice in the head

32-year-old Adam Tipene was also convicted for trying to ram police cars, aggravated burglary and other related offences.
Police dog Caesar was stabbed in late 2018, while trying to apprehend a homeowner who was being being threatened with a knife.
