Meridian is reviewing the Electricity Authority's preliminary decision on a complaint they spilled more water from dams than needed

Meridian is reviewing the Electricity Authority's preliminary decision on a complaint they spilled more water from dams than needed

The authority found it led to higher prices for consumers and avoidable carbon emissions.

Meridian Energy Acting Chief Executive Guy Waipara says, last December for the first time in its history, the company spilled from all its hydro structures.

He says Meridian will review this initial finding and submit to the Authority as part of its consultation process.
