Railway workers have been slammed for taking their protest to the Dunedin Railways CEO's front door

Railway workers have been slammed for taking their protest to the Dunedin Railways CEO's front door

Redundancy notices went out to 50 Taieri Gorge Railway staff yesterday - as the company put operations on ice for the foreseeable future.

Dunedin City Holdings chair Keith Cooper says the company was gutted by the Covid-19 crisis - and he knows it's been hard.

But he says the rail company's chair Kevin Winders and CEO Craig Osborne lost their jobs too.

Cooper says the choice to take the protests to Winders' family home was particularly disappointing and inappropriate.
