A Dunedin student tried to scratch out his eyeballs at a student party - after taking what he thought was ecstasy

A Dunedin student tried to scratch out his eyeballs at a student party - after taking what he thought was ecstasy

Police were called to assist ambulance officers at a party on Castle St at about 11 last night.

Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen told the Otago Daily Times a 19-year-old believed he'd taken MDMA - but tests show it was mostly bath salts.

Dinnissen says there's a huge risk around untested drugs and people need to be cautious.
