England and West Indies players have taken a knee in support of the Black Lives Matter movement before play in the first test at Southampton, as international cricket returned after a four-month absence

The tourists knelt in the outfield while their counterparts did the same around the field.

England are 35 for one after a rain-interrupted day, but it was off the field where the message was delivered by former internationals Michael Holding and Ebony Rainford-Brent as part of the television commentary team.
