Retail internet providers are disappointed in Chorus' rise in fibre prices
10 July 2020
The broadband provider plans to increase the wholesale cost of the popular ultra- fast broadband fibre plan 46 dollars per month to 47 dollars.
Taryn Hamilton, who's consumer and business chief executive for Vocus, which operates Orcon and Slingshot, describes the move as tone deaf.
He says it's cynical and out of touch, saying they don't need to go through with the price rise.
In a statement, Chorus says it believes most Kiwis understand ongoing investments in broadband infrastructure is worthwhile.
