Act's outlined a new employment insurance scheme, as it pushes for an overhaul of the welfare system

Act's outlined a new employment insurance scheme, as it pushes for an overhaul of the welfare system

The policy would allow a taxpayer to claim 55 per cent of their average weekly earnings, if they lost their job.

It would be capped at 60 thousand dollars a year.

Financial Advice New Zealand chief executive Katrina Shanks says it's similar to ACC insurance.

She says part of a worker's salary or wage would put aside and ring fenced, and only used if they lose their job.
