    Front up and explain yourselves

    Front up and explain yourselves

That's the blunt order from the State Owned Enterprises Minister to our biggest electricity generator - Meridian Energy.

The Electricity Authority last month released a preliminary decision that found Meridian may have spilled water unnecessarily - causing gas generation to fire up... and consumer prices to rise.

Winston Peters says its Board Chair and Chief Executive have now been told to front up to his office - before the House rises in early August.

He says it's a damning finding... and it's unacceptable to essentially gerrymander the market for profit.
