A late Jordie Barrett conversion from the sideline has helped the Hurricanes sneak to a 29-27 Super Rugby Aotearoa victory over the Blues in Wellington

Both teams have scored four tries each, with replacement hooker Asafo Aumua scoring the decisive try for the 'Canes.

The win is the Hurricanes' third straight, while the Blues have now suffered back to back losses.

Springboks great Victor Matfield is lamenting the demise of Super Rugby, but accepts it began to slide some time ago.

New Zealand will set up its own competition in 2021, incorporating Pasifika and Australian sides, subject to application.

Matfield says prior to the conference model, it was a superb competition.

Scott Dixon has maintained his spot atop the points leaderboard after finishing second at the first IndyCar race at Iowa Speedway.

The kiwi driver has made up 15 spots after starting from 17th on the grid, for his fourth podium of the season.

Dixon describes how important the result is in the wider championship picture.

Frenchman Simon Pagenaud has won the race despite starting from last.

Formula One has reported two positive Covid-19 cases in a batch of four-thousand-997 tests, the first linked to the sport since the initial season-opener in Australia in March was cancelled.

F1 did not give details about the individuals but it is believed neither was part of a team or in a frontline position, during the first two races in Austria.

The sport is testing everyone involved every five days.

Scott McLaughlin has won the latest Supercars race in Sydney.

The defending champion's notched up a fourth victory of the season.
