If you think parking in Auckland's expensive - be thankful you're not living overseas

If you think parking in Auckland's expensive - be thankful you're not living overseas

The 2020 Parking Price Index has ranked the cost of parking in 65 major cities around the world.

High at number one is New York, where the average price of parking in the city centre is nearly 38 New Zealand dollars, every 3 hours.

By comparison, Auckland city which is 49th down the list, has an average of 2 dollars and 58 cents every 3 hours.

The Index also reveals how much local councils will lose in parking revenue with fewer people out and about during the covid-19 pandemic - with Chicago estimated to be down a whopping 180 million dollars.
