He's three shots off the lead after two rounds of the British Masters in Newcastle, his first tournament since covid-19 halted the season in March.
Fox says he'd have to isolate for 14 days in the US before the major.
There's been no sightings of champagne or even moonshine getting smashed across the bow, but America's Cup challengers American Magic have launched their AC75 boat Defiant into the Waitemata Harbour this morning.
Team New Zealand finally has some competition on the waters of the Hauraki Gulf.
Defiant's expected to undergo tests with the aim to start sailing on Monday.
The boat has been on dry dock since arriving from the US last month.
The Wisden Trophy, contested between England and West Indies in test cricket, is to be replaced by a new trophy named after Sir Vivian Richards and Sir Ian Botham for the next series.
Speaking after the announcement, Richards thanked Botham for looking after him when he arrived to play county cricket at Somerset.
Botham also explained that he turned down the rebel tour to South Africa when someone suggested Richards could be an "honorary white man".
