    Qatar , the host of football's 2022 World Cup, has announced it is keen to stage the Olympics, possibly in 2032


    The oil-rich country is increasingly keen to host sporting events - one example was last year's world athletics championships.

    The Olympics have never been hosted in the Middle East, although Qatar's capital Doha bid unsuccessfully for the 2016 and 2020 Games.

    Among the concerns surrounding such a move are the desert temperatures during parts of the year, and allegations about the ill-treatment of migrant workers.
