More wild weather is expected for the upper North Island

More wild weather is expected for the upper North Island

Niwa's released its outlook for the next three months, anticipating near-to-above normal rain for the top of the country.

Whangarei, Coromandel Peninsula and Bay of Plenty are likely to bear the brunt of any potential heavy downpour, due to being exposed to northeasterly winds.

Forecaster Ben Noll says severe weather could also be in store.

He says the weather systems which brought Northland and Coromandel Peninsula lots of rainfall during June and July, is expected to continue over the next three months.
