    Ka kite kakariki

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

The Warriors have confirmed the immediate departure of playmaker Blake Green to Newcastle for the rest of the NRL season.

Green was off-contract at the end of the season, and had been told he wouldn't be re-signed by the Mount Smart club.

CEO Cameron George says Green is a champion person.

Meanwhile Cameron George says interim coach Todd Payten informed the players he wouldn't take up an offer to coach the side next season, before going on NRL 360 to explain it.

George says it could take several weeks or even months to get a coach in place for next year.
