Two people are on the run after shooting at Police during a pursuit in South Auckland last night

Two people are on the run after shooting at Police during a pursuit in South Auckland last night

The incident happened on Weymouth Road in Manurewa about 11.30 pm.

Less than a minute into the pursuit -- the driver pulled a firearm and shot at the moving Police vehicle.

The chase was abandoned and the car was found dumped on Totara Road.

Police are still looking for two people.

Counties Manukau District Commander Superintendent Jill Rogers says it was a frightening incident for the officers -- but they're doing well.
