More turbulence on the horizon for Kapiti Coast Airport, which is once again at threat of closure in the wake of Covid-19

More turbulence on the horizon for Kapiti Coast Airport, which is once again at threat of closure in the wake of Covid-19

It was delivered a near-fatal blow in 2018 when Air New Zealand decided to stop flying to the airport in Paraparaumu.

Now the pandemic has delivered another knock.

The airport's owner says no decision has been made to close it, but it faces significant economic viability issues.

Spokesperson Dani Simpson says passenger numbers are declining and safety's also a concern with Aerodrome Flight Information Services being withdrawn.
