Wellington's leading the way towards a future with fewer breast cancer deaths

A new study by Wellington radiologist Dr Monica Saini will investigate the link between breast density and interval cancers.
She says she hopes to identify if women with denser breast tissue are more at risk.
Saini says it will help improve screenings, catch cancer earlier, and hopefully reduce the number of deaths.
More than 3300 New Zealand women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, and of those, more than 650 will die.
